Registration set for Day Camp

With the school year winding down, summer is about to kick off, and ResourceCare is opening up registration for Day Camp 2022 to be held July 11-22.
ResourceCare programs assistant Ragan Riley said registration for the annual program will be held next week on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 10-11 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and then from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Albany Youth Center.
“All campers must be registered during these two days,” said Riley. “We will not be able to sign up children for the program after May 11.”
The registration time was split to include evenings for parents unable to come during working hours, but it is imperative that anyone who can’t come on one of those two days contact Riley or Mindy Ary at 325-762-2447 before May 11 to make arrangements. Late registration will not be allowed.
Required paperwork will need to be completed in order for a child to attend Day Camp including permission and allergy forms, as well as prescription release forms for campers who need medication during camp hours.
Detailed information about medications should be brought to registration.
Day Camp is free to registered children who are at least three years of age and potty trained through those going into sixth grade.
Meals will be provided free of charge; however, no outside food or beverages are allowed due to the Summer Food Program grant covering the cost of meals.
To be considered for paid staff, applicants need to be entering high school freshmen through graduates. Volunteer positions are for applicants entering seventh and eighth grades.
Information about staff applications will be posted at a later date, Riley said.
Camp is funded by the Albany Chest, local contributions, and fundraising events including CareFest in the fall and food sales throughout the year.
Donations or needed supplies, such as sun screen, can be taken to ResourceCare during business hours or to the Youth Center by 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
