Tickets are on sale for the Radney Foster concert set for Friday, April 29 at the Aztec Theater, with seats still available.

The performance is sponsored by Albany Live, a nonprofit organized last year to bring live musical events to Albany. Foster’s show is the fourth in an ongoing singer/songwriter series that will continue monthly through July.

“We have sold about half of our tickets, so there are plenty available,” Trey Davis said Monday. “People can still buy tickets on the website, and any that are left will be sold at the door.”

To purchase online, go to the group’s website, www.albanylive.org. Prices are $50 for general admission and $75 for reserved seating in the front two rows.

“There are still some of the reserved seats available up front,” Davis said, “but we only have 20 VIP add-ons left for after the show.”

Any ticket holder can upgrade the concert experience by purchasing a $50 VIP add-on entitling those ticket holders to attend a reception with the singer after the concert in the Aztec’s community room. The VIP pass also includes drinks and snacks.

There are 286 seats in the Aztec’s auditorium, with the front two rows sold as reserved seating and the remaining available as general admission.

“If you’re sure you want to attend, go ahead and buy online,” Davis said. “It looks like there may be tickets available at the door, but that’s not guaranteed.”

The series is aimed at providing live musical performances for Albany and the surrounding area.

“If this series succeeds, we will be able to bring in even bigger performers for the next series,” Davis said, “Currently we have 66 patrons who purchased season passes and preferred seating to all performances.”

Upcoming concerts are Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis on June 4, and James McMurtry on July 20.
