Quilt owners are encouraged to lend one or more of the works of art in their collection to the Albany Study Club for their annual quilt show at the Whitney Theatre so everyone can admire the fabric treasures during the Fandangle season.

“It seems like everyone loves to look at quilts no matter the age of the quilt, the pattern or the size,” said Carolyn Waller. “Anyone interested in sharing a quilt for the show should place it in a clean plastic bag, with the owner’s name clearly marked on the bag, and bring it to the Shackelford County Library prior to Friday, June 14.”

Registration forms for the show are available at the library and who encourage the owner to share information about the quilt, if known.

“There is space for quite a few quilts to be displayed at the theater,” said Tammy Glover, who will be hanging the quilts this year. “We enjoy offering residents and our out-of-town guests the opportunity to see a wide range of quilts.”

Admission to the quilt show, held in the air conditioned Whitney Theatre, is free, and the show will be open to the general public from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on the afternoons of Fandangle performances on June 21, 22, 28 and 29.

Following the exhibit, owners can pick up their quilts at the library during normal library hours.
