Deadline for submissions to Albany Study Club’s annual Quilt Show is Friday, June 10.

The Quilt Show will be held the two Fridays and Saturdays during Fandangle, June 17-18 and 24-25, at the Whitney Theatre.

The show is free to the public and will be open from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

To submit a quilt or handmade piece for the show, exhibitors can leave them in a plastic bag with a completed information card at Shackelford County Library. Information cards are available at the library.

Study Club member Tammy Glover said other sewing projects such as table runners and Christmas ornaments will also be accepted for display. Glover said items may be old or new.

“People can call me, and I can arrange to have items picked up or we can meet them at the Whitney,” Glover said. “The main thing is we have the items by Friday so we can start setting up.”

In addition to the Quilt Show, the Study Club is also selling raffle tickets for a hand-pieced quilt being raffled to raise funds for scholarships.

This year’s raffle quilt was started by a Ruidoso, New Mexico friend of Study Club member Leta Bell. Bell finished the quilt after the friend died before completing it.

Raffle tickets may be purchased from any Study Club member or at Shackelford County Library. Tickets are $5 for one or $20 for five. Tickets will be sold until Saturday, June 25, with the drawing held before the final Fandangle performance.

The quilt raffle is one of two fundraising projects the Study Club has, along with cookbook sales, to fund scholarships.
