Public asked to be diligent

Two positive tests for the COVID-19 coronavirus were listed as still active in the Monday report from the Texas Department of State Health Services, which also reported the total of 22 cases since March.
In a notice on Facebook by county judge Robert Skelton, the latest report posted on Monday reported two previously confirmed positive cases as still active.
The COVID-19 dashboard listed 22 total positive cases last week, with the total number of tests administered reported as 195.
Skelton asked the public to continue to be diligent about guarding against the spread of the virus.
“Please use common sense and good judgment,” Skelton said. “Limit your exposure as much as you can control.”
Officials are urging the public to continue all precautions such as wearing a face coverings, handwashing, and social distancing.
With the start of regular school activities, including sports activities, the public is warned to take precautions against being exposed to the virus by mixing with people from other communities.
The number of positive cases locally has remained low over the last three to four weeks, but officials warn against complacency.
