PTO starts campaign to raise funds for teacher appreciation

TheAlbany PTO is seeking sponsorships or donations to use during the annual Albany ISD staff appreciation week set for March 18-22 at both local campuses.

The group decided at theirannualorganizational meetinginJanuarytobegin aprogramofprovidingsupport forlocalteachers,along with showing appreciation duringthespecialweekand throughout the school year.

The sponsorships range in price from $5,000 for the single main donor to five donors – one for each day – for$2,500apiece.Also,their are five lunch sponsorships available for $1,000 each to provide special meals on each day of the appreciation week.

Five gift sponsors are also being sought, at a cost of $500 each, and five snack sponsors for $250 each.

Sponsors will have their company name or logo displayed for each sponsorship to the staff at both campuses.

“Instead of being a sponsor, you can make a flat donation,”saidRaganRiley, PTO president. “We would greatly appreciate any funds that we can raise to help show our school staff that they are appreciated.”

Prospective sponsorships can find the registration form on the Albany PTO Facebook page, or they can request the form by emailing albany.tx.pto@gmail.com.

Local parents and residents in general are also urged to join the PTO. The yearly fee is $5, and a form to join the group is also on theFacebookpageorcanbe requested by email.

“We thank everyone for supporting our mission and helping our school staff feel recognized and appreciated,” Riley said. “All money raised through this campaign will go back to our staff through staff appreciation week, backto- schoolsupplies,newstaff orientation, staff incentives and staff recognition throughout the year.”
