Project Grad fundraisers scheduled
By Sandy Morris
Project Graduation organizers are planning their first fundraiser to prepare for the annual celebration following graduation.
Order forms for Valentine’s Day Oreo Truffles were distributed this week and are available at both school campuses.
“The deadline for orders for the truffles is Monday, Feb. 1,” said class parent Tisha Wilkins. “The seniors will help prepare them, and the truffles will be delivered to the high school and to Nancy Smith Elementary School on Valentine’s Day.”
The truffles cost $3 for a half dozen and $6 for a full dozen. They are available in milk chocolate, white chocolate, or mixed.
Cash payments must be returned with each order and NSES orders will be collected in homeroom or in the office with AJHS orders being collected in the high school library.
“This is our biggest fundraiser,” said Wilkins. “We will easily make between 1,200-1,300 truffles.”
Senior Help
Opportunities
Seniors are encouraged to get involved and help with the fundraiser.
Several opportunities are available from promoting the fundraiser on social media, coming to one or both dip and decorate nights, or sorting and delivering orders.
If students are unable to help, but still want extra credit, they can bring two packages of regular Oreo cookies and two boxes of cream cheese to The Feed Store. Donations will be accepted until Monday, Feb. 8.
Credit is given for parent/senior attending dip night(s), delivering orders or donating supplies.
Other Fundraisers
The senior class will also hold a ‘To Go’ lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28 at The Feed Store.
The menu will include chicken spaghetti, salad, bread stick, and dessert for a donation.
Each senior will be assigned a food item to donate before the luncheon.
Once again, seniors can help by promoting the lunch on social media and helping deliver meals to cars. Parents can help inside by making up the to-go boxes.
Credit will be given for bringing the assigned food item and for the student and/or parent helping with the luncheon.
General Information
Money raised by Project Graduation is used to fund the traditional after-graduation alcohol-free and drug-free party for members of the senior class.
The 2021 Project Graduation will be held locally with The Feed Store as the hub for all events.
Each senior is required to have a minimum of four credits from participating in various fundraisers in order to qualify for additional gifts at Project Graduation.
