Price exhibits heifer to first in Austin

Gracie Price placed first in her class with her Maine-Anjou heifer March 25 at the Star of Texas Stock Show in Austin, the last major show of the season.

Kenzie Neve exhibited a steer March 22, as FFA and 4-H members wrapped up a productive show year.

Albany FFA members now turn their attention to several upcoming judging contests.

On Tuesday, March 29, the livestock judging team of Price, Leddie Leech, Chelsy Parsons, and Callan Edgar and the horse judging team of Cort Peterson, Will LeMay, Susie Cormack, and Madailein Beard competed at the Weatherford College CDE. Results were not available at press time.

“This was good practice for students preparing for the Big Country District and Area 4 contest,” FFA advisor Chris Beard said.

That contest will be April 13 at Tarleton State in Stephenville.

On Thursday, March 31 (today), the livestock team competed at Sweetwater. Ag teams will compete at Angelo State on April 1 and at Mingus on April 4
