Practices underway for Fandangle Sampler

Rehearsal for the Fandangle Sampler began on Tuesday, March 23 in preparation for the annual membership show scheduled for Saturday, April 17, with the next practice set for tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 p.m.
The Sampler is returning to Reynolds Bend on the Lambshead Ranch after more than a 20-year absence. In recent years, the spring event has been held at locations such as the old Fort Griffin townsite on Collins Creek Ranch, downtown Albany, the Shackelford County Courthouse Square, and the Prairie Theater.
In 2020, the Sampler was cancelled due to COVID concerns.
Fandangle creative director Lorna Ayers said that rehearsals are open to anyone who would like to participate in the show.
“It is important for people to attend as many of the six rehearsals as possible,” said Ayers. “We will rehearse at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday nights, for now at the Aztec Theater.”
People who would like to be included in reminder texts for rehearsals and other information regarding the show can sign up by texting 81010 with the message @fandan from their cell phone.
After signing up, senders should get an immediate response stating their number has been subscribed, as well as giving them the link to the ‘Remind App’ to read previous messages.
Summer Shows
Four performances of the Fandangle have been scheduled for the 2021 season at the Prairie Theater – June 18, 19, 25, and 26 – starting at 8:30 p.m. each evening.
The annual parade will be held on Saturday, June 19.
Memberships
Fandangle office manager Jamie Parsons said memberships will continue to be available to the public.
“Even if someone is new or didn’t receive a letter from our office this year, they can still become a member,” said Parsons. “Prospective members can call us, come by the office or join online.”
