Pop-up art show planned

Visitors to the Fandangle will have an added attraction to visit this year with the Easy Does It Pop-Up Art Show.

The event will feature new works by Austin-based artist Calhan Hale and Albany native/Denton-based George Kelly. 

Both artists explore the different narratives and experiences that fall within the broadly interpreted idea of being “Texan.”

The exhibit is installed in a retrofitted shipping container and will allow visitors an opportunity to connect with art in a non-traditional space. 

The emerging Texas artists will have their works on display both weekends of the Fandangle from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at 341 S. 3rd Street, just south of the courthouse lawn.

Admission to the show is free and the public is invited to attend the inaugural exhibition organized by FLAT PACK Productions, a creative endeavor which aims to bring art, music, and culture to both rural and urban communities.
