The Best Christmas Pageant Ever will be performed live at the Aztec Theater by members of the Albany Mainstreet Playhouse on Nov. 30, Dec. 1, and Dec. 8, and tickets are now on sale.

“The play is perfect for the whole family,” said director Lorna Ayers. “It is a timeless, hilarious classic. Children and adults alike will be thoroughly entertained.”

Samuel French’s comedy is a full-length play based on Barbara Robinson’s best-selling book with the same name.

“It’s been around 15 years since AMP last presented this popular little play,” said Ayers. “It is so fun having this fresh new cast performing it this year. The children are the stars of the show, and they are supported by a talented adult cast.”

Performance times are 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30 after the Christmas parade, and matinees at 2:30 p.m. on both Sunday, Dec. 1 and Sunday, Dec. 8.

Tickets cost $15 for adults and $8 for students, and can be purchased at The Albany News.

Although tickets will also be available at the door, buying them ahead of time is encouraged, according to the director.
