Play cast members earn honors

The Albany Junior High School one act play cast and crew competed in the district contest on Thursday, Nov. 12 in Stamford. 

The students performed a comedic fairy tale, “The Magic Well.”

While the show did not place, several students were awarded individual awards, including Jalea Bowman – Best Technical Crew, Ann Davis – Honorable Mention, All-Star Cast, and Avery Everitt – All -Star Cast. 

Director Melanie Turner was very proud of her students’ performance.

“The students performed the best show they have done yet,” said Turner. 

The cast and crew of “The Magic Well” were as follows: Prologue – Gabby Lopez, The Dragon – Layne Morgan, Old King Cole – Laithe Leech, Old Woman – Ann Davis, Old Man – Jayce Tinkle, Town Poet – Madelynn Daugherty, Town Fool – Jace Little, Old Hag – Avery Everitt, Mrs. Blinky – Kenzie Neve, Prince Arlo Marlowe – Brody Brown, Tissy – Averie Burns, Prissy – Julia Vega, Lissy – Abi Hale, and Frog – Andre Gjerpe.

Crew members included Jalea Bowman, Macie Breeden, Hannah Mac kenzie, Branson Beal, and Will LeMay.

Alternates for the show were Caroline Holson, Ty Richards, Jacob Hale, and Makenna McNeill.
