Members of the Albany Parent Teacher Organization have started planning for the 2019 Fall Festival, and students and parents from all grade levels are encouraged to sign up and help with the annual fundraiser.

This year, instead of handing out the sign-up sheets to class representatives at a scheduled meeting, organizer Malarie Sutton plans to hand deliver forms to each campus.

“Since most of the class representatives didn’t come to the meeting, it was pretty much a waste of time,” said Sutton. “This year I’ll take the forms up to Nancy Smith Elementary School, talk to the teachers, and have them get the parents signed up.”

Sutton said that she will also deliver sign-up sheets to the secondary campus, for those classes.

Proceeds from the fundraiser benefit all the students in Albany ISD, those at the secondary campus as well as those at NSES, according to Sutton.

Parents of all children in the Albany Independent School District are asked to sign up to help with the booth for their child’s grade level.

Community volunteers are also welcome.

The 2019 Fall Fest will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The cafeteria is expected to start serving at 5:00 p.m., and the booths will be open from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
