Organizers of ResourceCare Day Camp 2020 are gearing up for 165 campers, 22 volunteers, and 48 high school and college staff members to arrive Monday, July 6 for the three-week camp ending Friday, July 28.

ResourceCare program director Mindy Ary said donations are still needed for the camp and campers.

Ary added that donated sunscreen is being requested.

Other than monetary donations and sunscreen, ResourceCare will accept Kool-Aid mixes, pretzels, cookies, goldfish, any type of fruit, art supplies, children’s movies on DVD, donated blankets and throw pillows for movie time, and plastic tablecloths.

Items can be delivered to the ResourceCare front desk or will be picked up by request.

To make a donation, contact Ary at 254-459-8785, mindyary@resourcecare.org, or mail checks to PO Box 2435 Albany, TX 76430.

Ary explained that with the support of donations, the camp provides a safe place for kids during the summer as well as recreation, swimming, arts and crafts, and nutritious snacks and meals.

“The mentor relationships between staff, volunteers, and campers will last a lifetime,” Ary said.

Ary added that children not already registered at this time will not be able to attend this year.
