Pinewood Derby re-set March 3

Albany’sCubScoutPack 255 has rescheduled its annual Pinewood Derby for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3 at the Scout Hut.

While a wave of illness running through the community has disrupted several activities, the Scouting programhasbeenrelatively unscathed, organizer Teri Lucas said.

“The problem for us has beentryingtogeteverybody together at the same time,” Lucas said. “We’ve had to work around everyone’s schedules.”

The Scouts will do more than just race their cars.

“We’llhavethePinewood Derby and popcorn awards all at one time,” Lucas said.

Scouts from Tiger through Webelos are eligible to compete with cars carved from a standard pine block.

Entries must meet requirements for height, weight, width, and ground clearance.
