Another live concert sponsored by Albany Live is set for Saturday at the Aztec Theater when Paul Cauthen comes to town as part of the singer/songwriter series.

Tickets are still available online for the fourth show in the series at the website: www.albanylive.org.

According to board member and organizer Trey Davis, about 200 tickets of the 286 available seats were taken at press time on Tuesday.

Doors at the Aztec will open at 6:30 p.m., with the show scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.

“I think tickets will continue to sell well this week, but there probably will be some available at the door as well,” Davis said. “We had a lot of people who waited too long for the last show, and it sold out quickly, so I suggest that you not wait.”

Albany Live sponsored Shane Smith and the Saints on Feb. 19, which was a sellout well in advance of the performance.

Ticket prices are $50 for seating in row five and beyond. The first two rows are reserved for season ticket holders, and rows three and four require a $75 ticket that is no longer available for this concert.

The remainder of the general admission seating is available on a first come, first served basis.

Any ticket holders can add on a VIP experience to their tickets for $50 that includes attending an after concert reception with snacks and drinks.

Cauthen – singer, songwriter, and proud son of Tyler, Texas – is steward of a rich, resonant, bass-leaning tenor dubbed “Big Velvet.” He covers “a lot of ground and embodies a lot of characters,” according to his website.

Tickets are also on sale for the Radney Foster concert on April 29, available on theAlbany Live website.

A concert featuring Chris Knight that was originally set for Feb. 5 had to be postponed due to winter weather conditions. That performance is rescheduled for Saturday, June 11.

“We are really hoping to keep this kind of series going for the Aztec and for Albany,” Davis said. “We think this can be really good for the downtown stores and restaurants, so we are working on coordinating with them more. Maybe they can stay open longer prior to each concert to give people a chance to shop locally.”
