Patsy Cline show dates set

Local singer Lorna Ayers will step into the spotlight at the Aztec and utilize her trademark voice and the excellent acoustics of the historic theater to again become the lead character of the musical Always...Patsy Cline, along with Pam Davis as Louise, and live music provided by The Bodacious Bobcat Band.

Show dates are Friday, Aug. 10 and 17, and Saturday, Aug. 18 at 7:30 p.m., and a 2:30 matinee on Sunday, Aug. 12.

Tickets are $20 each for reserved seating on the first three rows. General admission seating is $15.

To purchase tickets, call Tisha Wilkins at 325-660-7443.

The same cast performed the show locally in August of 2015, and across Texas ten years prior to that.

“They traveled the entire state with it in 2005,” said Wilkins, who is a Aztec Theater board member.

The musical, written by Ted Swindley 30 years ago, features many of the country music singer’s hits, and is based upon a true story of a Houston housewife who became friends with the star.

Any funds remaining after expenses are met will go to help support the Aztec Theater, according to Wilkins.

Patsy Cline was the first female solo artist inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and has also been selected as one of the greatest women in rock and roll by VH1, and one of the greatest singers of all time by Rolling Stone magazine.

She died at age 30 in the crash of a private airplane.
