Entries for the 2022 homecoming parade set to roll through downtown Albany next Friday, Oct. 14 are being accepted until 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, according to high school principal Glen Hill.

Any individual, organization, or class group that would like to be included in the parade should contact Ann Riley at the high school office, 325-762-3974, to reserve a spot in the lineup.

As of Tuesday, only the Shackelford County Volunteer Fire Department had registered an entry.

“We really need to hear from organizations or classes who want to ride in the parade,” Hill said. “The deadline is next Tuesday at the end of the school day.”

Entrants should begin gathering at 4:30 p.m. next Friday in the parking lot in front of the Robert Nail Memorial Stadium.

The annual parade will kick off at 5:00 p.m. down Main Street, circling the courthouse and coming back through the downtown to the football stadium parking lot.

The Ex-Students Association holds “Big Homecoming” events on even numbered years, including a brunch and business meeting for all ex-students on Saturday.

Floats associated with Albany graduates are welcome to participate.

Homecoming royalty and nominees will ride in the parade as well.
