Only 2 COVID cases reported
By Donnie A. Lucas
Only two new COVID-19 cases were reported last week, as the number of local cases continues to decline based on information provided by Albany’s two health clinics.
The weekly report by county judge Bob Skelton issued on Tuesday showed two positive test results out of 12 tests administered at the two local clinics for the period of Oct. 17-21.
There were two positive cases out of six tests for the week of Oct. 10-14.
The number of cases requiring hospitalization in Trauma Service Area D, which includes Abilene area hospitals, stayed steady at five COVID-19 patients last week, with no adult or pediatric patients requiring ICU care.
Testing continues to be available locally at the Shackelford County Health Clinic and ResourceCare Community Health Center.
The total number of tests or positives does not include any information about tests administered outside Albany or by use of home tests.
Residents continue to have access to at-home COVID tests at local and area pharmacies.
