One new positive test for COVID-19 was reported last week based on information provided by Albany’s two health clinics.

The weekly report by county judge Bob Skelton issued Tuesday reported one positive test result out of 8 tests administered at the two local clinics for the shortened period of Nov. 28 through Dec. 2.

There were 7 positive results out of 13 tests for the previous week.

A number of cases of the flu were also reported during the period.

Testing continues to be available locally for both COVID-19 and the flu at the Shackelford County Health Clinic and ResourceCare Community Health Center.

The CDC continues to recommend all eligible citizens get vaccinated with the series of two vaccines and the two follow-up boosters for COVID-19, as well as the seasonal flu vaccination.

Anyone experiencing COVID-19 or flu symptoms can make an appointment to be tested at one of the two testing sites in Albany.

The Shackelford County Health Clinic (325-762-3661) and ResourceCare Community Health Center (325-762-2447) both offer testing and vaccines, including boosters, by appointment.
