The Nancy Smith Elementary School Scholastic Book Fair kicked off on Monday, April 19.

Sponsored by the PTO, this year’s book fair is being held virtually and will run through Sunday, May 2.

Students will have the opportunity to choose from over 6,000 products, and all items purchased will be shipped directly to the purchaser’s home.

Orders over $25 qualify for free shipping, but books must be purchased to receive this perk.

PTO member and book fair organizer Malarie Sutton said a goal has been set  to sell 647 books this year.

“We looked at sales from previous book fairs and took the average, and from those numbers, we came up with 647,” Sutton said. “We are hoping this number will encourage parents and family members to get online and make purchases.”

Flyers have been sent home with students, and announcements have been posted explaining how to order books from the sale.

The link to the book fair can be found at https://bookfairs.scholastic.com, enter zip code 76430 and find NSES to begin shopping.

All money raised from the sale will go to the Albany PTO and will be used to help the school directly with various needs and projects.
