OJAC registration deadline nears
By Jillian Lucas
The Old Jail Art Center children’s summer workshop registration is happening now with a deadline date set for Friday, July 9.
Workshops will be offered virtually this year beginning each week of August for students in first through sixth grade.
A kit will be mailed to each applicant with supplies and materials for each day of instruction.
Kits will include a password for participants to access each week’s camp video.
Videos will be posted each morning of the workshop at 10:00 a.m. and will include step-by-step instructions demonstrated by OJAC educators.
Workshops to be held
Aug. 3-5 – Cultural Connections Camp: India
Campers will learn about the culture, music, food, and art India.
Aug. 10-12– Things on a String: Puppet Workshop
Students will design and construct their own puppets while guided by professional puppeteers.
Aug. 17-19 – Frontier Fort Kids
Students will explore life at a Texas fort during the 1800s through historical crafts and activities.
Camp kits will include traditional snacks and activities.
All workshops are limited to 30 students and are free for OJAC members. There is a cost of $15 per camp for non-members.
