OJAC offers virtual workshops

Specialized subscription boxes are in big demand as many people are limiting their outings and social activities.

In order to continue to provide patrons with opportunities to participate in some type of workshop, the Old Jail Art Center has created a virtual workshop subscription series.

The series includes four workshops during the spring semester plus a free summer bonus.

Two options are available with #StayHomeStudio for teens and adults and #StayHomeStudioKIDS for ages seven to 12.

Each kit provides access to monthly workshop videos with step-by-step visuals and instruction by a museum educator.  Participants explore a new media/art material each month and create a unique keepsake.

The complete supply kit is mailed to the subscriber’s home address each month and contains all special materials, helpful hints and the password to view that particular month’s workshop video.

New #StayHomeStudio links for teens and adults can be found on the OJAC’s Facebook page on the second Tuesday of each month.

The #StayHomeStudioKIDS workshop link will be on the OJAC’s Facebook page on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Once participants of either workshop have viewed the link and demonstration, the artists can then create the projects at their own convenience and pace.

To register for the spring semester and receive the first kit, purchase a subscription by going to www.theojac.org/eventslist/stayhomestudiokids for the children’s program and www.theojac.org/eventlist/stayhomestudio for the teen and adult program. There are also buttons on the home page to find the registration pages.

Both links describe the logistics and pricing of the subscription.

For more information, contact the OJAC at 325-762-2269.
