OJAC begins Annual Fund Appeal 2020
By Sandy Morris
Despite the challenges of 2020, the Old Jail Art Center has found unique ways to continue to offer programming that serves a variety of patrons.
In response to the OJAC’s continued operations throughout the past year, the OJAC’s staff and board of trustees are asking for contributions to the Annual Fund Appeal.
The Annual Fund Appeal is the single most important fundraiser the OJAC initiates to support operations and programs.
Contributions enable the museum to provide a wide range of stellar exhibitions, innovative education outreach, and numerous events and services that rival many larger urban institutions.
Some of the OJAC offerings during 2020 include special novel and thought-provoking temporary exhibitions, rotating permanent collection exhibitions, school programs reaching over 8,000 students per year, research opportunities, monthly activity kits for adults and children, virtual tours, family festivals, and diverse adult workshops.
Patrick Kelly, executive director for the OJAC, said contributions now will help the organization prepare for next year.
“Your contribution will allow us to confidently enter next year on firm ground equipped to offer another year of art-for-all,” said Kelly.
Once again, the Charles E. Jacobs Foundation recognizes the importance and successes of the OJAC and will match contributions to the Annual Fund dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000.
Donations to the OJAC Annual Fund can be mailed to 201 South 2nd Street, Albany TX 76430, sent online by going to theojac.org homepage and selecting “2020 Annual Fund,” or by calling 325-762-2269.
Patrons also are encouraged to contribute in person to see current offerings at the Old Jail.
