The number of positive cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus dropped a little last week, with 15 positive cases reported by the local testing facilities.

According to an update from Shackelford County Judge Robert Skelton, 38 tests were administered Oct. 11-15, resulting in four fewer positive cases than the week before.

Likewise, the number of cases reported to the state last week by Albany ISD nurse Lisa Russell dwindled to just two, both at the elementary campus.

Testing is being conducted at the Shackelford County EMS free of charge with an appointment. Call 325-762-3313 to obtain an appointment.

Both testing and vaccines are available by appointment at the Shackelford County Health Clinic (325-762-3661) and ResourceCare Community Health Center (325-762-2447).

Both facilities have the Moderna vaccine available.

The Pfizer vaccine is available for children ages 12 and above in Abilene.

The Shackelford County Health Clinic also reported three additional positive results from tests conducted on Monday, Oct. 18.
