NSES students to see science demonstrations

Next Wednesday, Oct. 31 is Science Day at Nancy Smith Elementary School, and pre-K through sixth grades will take turns spending part of the day in the lab with science teacher Leslie Neve.

“The sixth grade leadership team will assist during the day,” she said. “Each class will have a demonstration similar to a magician street show, with some audience participation.”

The series of demonstrations will show some fun and unusual things that can be explained by science.

“The younger grades will have demonstrations that are more simple for them to understand, and we have some big surprises for the older grades,” said Neve. “It will be a fun day in the lab! Disappearing water, boo bubbles, air cannons, atomic worms, and snow are just a few hints of our plans for the day!”

The demonstrations are intended to get students curious about why things happen the way that they do, according to Neve.
