NSES classes engage in food battle

The classes at Nancy Smith Elementary School are engaged in a battle – a canned food battle.

This past Monday, Nov. 9, NSES students began the “Battle of the Classes Canned Food Drive.”

Students will be collecting canned food items through Friday, Nov. 13 with all proceeds going to help senior citizens of Shackelford County. 

“ResourceCare asked if we could participate in a canned food drive this week,” said NSES principal John Gallagher. “The homeroom with the most cans by the end of the week will receive a classroom popcorn party.” 

Students can bring all collected canned food items to their teachers.
