Nostrand, Viertel exchange vows

Amber Michelle Nostrand and Seth Adam Viertel were united in marriage Saturday May 18, 2019 at the Whitney Theatre in Albany, Texas. The service was officiated by John Viertel, father of the groom.

The bride, who was given in marriage by Ted King, wore a floor-length strapless candlelight gown with a criss-cross shirred bodice accented with a wide band of pearls. The A-line gown was also accented with crystals and pearls as was the hairpiece worn by the bride. She carried a large bouquet of sunflowers, baby’s breath, white dahlias, and daisies.

In keeping with a West Texas theme, the groom wore a long-sleeved navy blue western cut shirt, jeans and boots.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister-in-law, Patty Nostrand of Sonora. Other attendants were Stephanie Esparza of Lubbock, Courtney Self of Rising Star, and Rachel Viertel of Albany, sister of the groom.

The bridesmaids wore knee-length dresses of dark blue and boots, and they carried bouquets of sunflowers and baby’s breath.

Kelly Donoho of Rising Star served as junior bridesmaid and Allison Estep, daughter of Brian and Jessica Estep and cousin of the groom, was flower girl.

The best man was Brian Estep of Weatherford, cousin of the groom. Other attendants were Brent Paxon of Cisco, Adam Viertel of Albany, cousin of the groom, and Jared Viertel of Haltom City, brother of the groom. They wore white shirts, jeans, and boots.

The rings were carried by Alex Estep, cousin of the groom and son of Brian and Jessica Estep.

The tables for the reception were decorated in colors of white and navy with burlap table runners. Vases of sunflowers, blue carnations or bluebonnets, greenery, and baby’s breath rested on disks of mesquite wood which were surrounded by a variety of votive candles. Also in use on some of the tables were vases used in the ceremonies of the groom’s siblings Joni Perez and Jared Viertel when they married.

Guests enjoyed a meal of brisket and all the trimmings provided by friends and family of the bride and groom. The children enjoyed a menu of hot dogs, chips, and macaroni and cheese.

A three-tiered wedding cake, made by groomsman Brent Paxton, was iced in a design like the bark of a birch tree and was highlighted with stems of bluebonnets and sunflowers. Topping the cake was a wood-cut of a bride and groom and a dog, representing their dog Hitch.

Amber, who is self-employed in home remodeling, is the daughter of Diane Nostrand of Rising Star and the granddaughter of the late Lester and Mamie Reed, also of Rising Star.

Seth, employed by Hanner Chevrolet in Baird, is the son of John and Ladonna Viertel of Moran, and the grandson of Art and Betty Viertel and Bob and Juanelle Williams, all of Albany.
