NHS induction set Sunday

An induction ceremony for 12 new members of the Albany chapter of the National Honor Society is set for Sunday, Nov. 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

Teachers, staff, parents, and family members are invited to attend. A reception in the ­FCCLA room will follow the ceremony.

The officers of the group will conduct the program, including reviewing the meaning of the four principals of the society. Following the candle lighting and pledge, the inductees will be pinned by the officers and other current members.

Members of the junior class who will join the senior members this year include Braylyn Abbate, Brooklyn Abbate, Jaden Bean, Jaci Chapman, Tyler Chapman, Cambree Clegg, Kolton Koemel, Luke Marshall, Cort Peterson, Kiana Robertson, Sidney Russell, and Robyn Trail.

Officers are Presley Green – president, Ashley Richards – vice president, Cole Chapman – secretary, Ella Webb – treasurer, and Leddie Leech – reporter.

Other current members include Chloé Anderson, Haily Cox, Chloe Daugherty, Mayson Garcia, Brooke Kayga, Gracie Price, Keatin Russell, and Briley Tabor.

The group has also started its annual Toys for Tots campaign with a collection box in the main hallway.

Donations of new, unwrapped toys or donations will be accepted through Friday, Dec. 2.

Ashley Terrell serves as the advisor of the local NHS chapter.
