John Caldwell and Friends will perform after the awards are given at the Albany Chamber of Commerce’s Home of the Hereford Cookoff and Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 23 at Webb
Park.

The event, which will raise money for new decorations the Chamber puts up throughout Albany, was  rescheduled from its original date of Oct. 2.

The cookoff will consist of competition in eight categories. Entrants must preregister, according to Chamber manager Mary Beth Jones. Entry fee is $20 per category. Payout will be based on the number of entries.

There will also be youth divisions for ages 5-9 and 10-14. Entry fee for those age groups will be $10.

Entry fee for the cornhole tournament is $25 per person with competition in singles and team divisions,

Jones said she expects entries to pick up as the event draws nearer.

“I’ve had lots of people tell me they’re planning to enter, they just haven’t done it,”
Jones said. “We will take entries up until the Friday before (Oct. 22). People can still enter the cornhole tournament that Saturday morning, but we’d like to know about the cooking entries by Friday afternoon.”

Jones said she is still seeking food vendors for the weekend, which will also feature the fire department’s bounce house and other activities.
