Motor graders to be refinanced

During Monday’s regular meeting, Shackelford County commissioners opted to refinance motor grader leases for all four precincts with an $11,400 savings over the life of the agreements.

Gordon McCain of First National Bank in Wichita Falls presented proposals for two Caterpillar and two John Deere maintainers, a couple of them new and the other two relatively recent purchases.

The 2.5 percent interest rate will lower the monthly payments for all four precincts and will not affect the guaranteed buy-back plans for the equipment at the end of the lease period.

The motion to approve the proposal was made by Cody Jordan, seconded by Ace Reames.
