More completed surveys welcome
By Sandy Morris
Thanks to a recent surge in responses, Shackelford County organizers have been able to reach the goals that were set for a special broadband initiative which will hopefully expand access of high speed internet to this area.
According to county judge Robert Skelton, completed surveys were needed from individuals, business owners, farmers/ranchers, education, healthcare, and government entities to get the county at a 100% completion rate.
“The efforts and the articles in The Albany News were what it took to get us to 100 percent in all targeted areas,” said Skelton.
He added that additional data from more surveys would be welcome, and that the surveys will be available online until Friday, May 28.
Shackelford County citizens who have not completed the survey, but wish to, can go to www.myconnectedcommunity.org/shackelford-county.
The survey takes approximately 10 minutes, and complete results are anticipated to be available by August, followed by development of an action plan.
The statewide effort is being led by Connected Nation Texas and funded by the Texas Rural Funders– at no cost to the counties or communities served.
