Dakota Fowler, head girls coach at Moran High School, was chosen to be one of the volleyball coaches for the upcoming Big Country Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-Star Festival.

Coaches and players for the teams were announced on Sunday, Feb. 10 at Beltway South in Abilene.

Fowler was named as one of the coaches for the South volleyball team, along with Jamey Wills from Clack Middle School and head coach Natalie Whitewood from Early High School.

“I am very honored to be able to coach and be involved with FCA,” Fowler said. “I was excited when I found out that I was picked to do this. I love the Lord, and I love being able to watch Him work in my players and others!”

Fowler has been involved in the FCA since she was in junior high. This year is her first to be a high school coach, and under her leadership, the Lady Bulldogs qualified for the volleyball playoffs for the first time since 1994.

The FCA volleyball game will take place at noon on Saturday, June 8, at the Wylie High School Gym in Abilene.

Players and coaches attend camp the week before the game to practice for the game, learn more about God, and fellowship with other young Christian athletes.

“My own players are very much involved with FCA, and they enjoy everything about it,” Fowler said. “I can’t wait to see what God does with all these athletes during this week!”
