Moran ISD will have special programs presented by the District 14 Education Service Center for all grade levels on Monday, Oct. 31.

Principal Jo Hise said separate programs will be presented for elementary, middle school, and high school students.

“We’re going to talk about how to be friends and about bullying with kindergarten through fifth grade,” Hise said. “We’ll cover technology safety with sixth through eighth grades and drug prevention with ninth through 12th.”

The presentations will be about 30 minutes with each group.

Trunk Or Treat

The Moran PTO will hold its Trunk or Treat celebration on Monday in the school parking lot.

“The PTO is going to hand out free hot dogs and water,” Hise said. “The PTO is encouraging participants to have little carnival games at their vehicles.”

The event will also include a pumpkin decorating contest in which contestants dress pumpkins as their favorite book character.

FFA News

Moran FFA participated in Leadership Development Events at Abilene on Thursday, Oct. 20 and at Snyder on Monday, Oct. 24.

A scheduled trip to Stephenville on Thursday, Oct. 27 has been cancelled because Moran moved its football game against Paint Rock up from Friday.

“We were going to take 17 kids to that, but we had to cancel,” superintendent Dr. John Denson said. “We’ve got the pep rally, and half the kids are cheerleaders or players.”

The Moran meat judging team will compete Saturday, Nov. 5 in Lubbock.
