Moran school year winds down

The school year is almost over, and students of Moran Independent School District are busy with a host of end-of-year activities.

State-mandated ­STAAR testing took place this week for many of the grades.

Pre-K through fifth grade students will attend ResourceCare’s health fair in Albany on Friday.

Next Week

On Monday, May 17, both the Moran PTO and the Moran ISD school board will hold meetings.

STAAR testing will continue May 18 to May 20.

The junior high and high school awards banquet will be held on May 20.

Final Week of School

The Baccalaureate service for Moran graduating seniors will be held at 6:00 p.m. May 23 at Moran First Baptist Church.

An elementary trip to the Abilene Zoo is scheduled for Tuesday, May 25.

On Thursday, May 27, elementary students will participate in a field day and will attend the end of year awards ceremony.

The kindergarten and eighth grade graduations will be held on Thursday, May 27.

The last day of school and graduation will be on Friday, May 28.
