Moran ISD starts break

Students at Moran ISD are on holiday break following the end of classes on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

The school district will conduct a staff development day on Monday, Jan. 9, before starting the spring semester on Tuesday, Jan. 10. Classes will be held that Friday, Jan. 13, the last scheduled Friday classes for the school year.

The final week of the fall semester was full of activities, including Breakfast with Santa and the school’s Christmas program on Tuesday, Dec. 20. Principal Jo Hise said Toys for Tots toys were distributed at the breakfast, as were Christmas stockings containing items from four-function calculators to toothbrushes for all students.

When classes resume in January, Hise said she wants students to get right back into the school routine.

“I really want to work on kids coming to school and having good attendance so we can prep them to be ready so they can be successful on state assessments in April and May,” she said.
