Moran ISD plans holidays

The Moran Independent School District will be closed on Good Friday, April 19 and Easter Monday, April 22.

Classes will release at the normal times on Thursday, April 18 and begin again on the regular schedule on Tuesday, April 23.

The next break from classes will be  holidays on May 24 and 27 for the Memorial Day weekend.

Classes will release early on the last two days of school, May 30 and 31.

 High school graduation will take place on May 31.

UIL Region 3 meet

Johnnie Hise placed fifth in Ready Writing at the Region 3 University Interscholastic League spring meet in Keller last Saturday, April 13.

Also representing Moran at the regional UIL meet were Andrew Farner in Science and Corbin Roberts in Prose Interpretation.

Only the top three places in each event at the meet qualify for State. 

Football Scoreboard

First Financial Bank donated a new football scoreboard, and it has been installed at Bulldog Stadium.

FFA Poultry Team

Moran FFA sent a poultry judging team to the Area IV Poultry contest held during the Tarleton Area CDEs in Stephenville on Wednesday, April 17.

Results were not available at press time and will be reported next week.

Regional Tennis Meet

Two MISD tennis teams are competing in the Region 3 meet at Whitney today.  

Kaylin New and Hannah Rogers are the girls doubles district champions, while the boys doubles team of Kobee Lapp and Harley Schafer took second at district.

First and second place contestants in the regional tournament at Whitney on April 18-19 will advance to the state tournament in College Station on May 16-17.
