Moran boys to play C-P

Illness and winter weather wreaked havoc with the Moran basketball schedule over the last two weeks with two boys games and one girls being rescheduled, while two junior high games were cancelled.

The Lady Bulldogs concluded their season Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Baird. Results will be reported next week.

The Moran boys visit Cross Plains on Friday, Feb. 10 before playing their season finale Tuesday, Feb. 14 at home against Rising Star.

Girls Basketball

On Friday, Feb. 3, the Lady Bulldogs lost 74-22 at Eula. Alli Scott led Moran with eight points. Alyssa Allred scored five, Samantha Hinkle four, Emily Murk three, and LeAnna Sikes two.

On Saturday, Feb. 4, the Lady Bulldogs lost to May 55-24 at home in a game postponed from Tuesday, Jan. 31 because of icy weather. Moran had just six players available for the game. Murk led with 11 points and  Allred had nine. Scott added four points.

Boys Basketball

On Wednesday, Jan. 25, the Bulldogs lost 51-19 to Cross Plains at home in a game postponed a day because Moran had several players out sick. Caleb York and Ellis Hise each scored six points to lead the team. Connor Hail added four points and Cotten Campbell three.

On Friday, Jan. 27, the Bulldogs lost 65-30 at Rising Star. Tyler Waddell and Hail scored eight points apiece. York was next with seven, followed by Hise with six and Zech Henderson with two.

On Friday, Feb. 3, Moran lost 90-13 at Eula. Hise scored eight points, York three, and Waddell two.

Junior High

Moran’s junior high teams closed out their season Monday, Feb. 6 at Baird after having their games from Monday, Jan. 23 cancelled because of the weather.

At Baird, the Moran A team lost 25-19 and the B team lost 37-6.

In the A team’s game, Garrett Hamilton scored 12 points, and Landon Moreno scored seven. In the B team’s game, Andy Barron, Christian Rodriguez, and Aiden Otwell scored two points apiece.
