Moran ISD athletic programs are already in full swing to prepare for the upcoming school year.

“All junior high and high school athletes have been participating in summer conditioning,” said MISD principal Jo Hise. “This helps get the students ready and ahead of the game for when their sports season starts.”

Morning practices have been ongoing throughout the summer Monday through Thursday from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.

Moran ISD athletics staff is not just focused on conditioning this summer but also in revitalizing the program as a whole.

The football and volleyball teams recently had a ‘Lift-a-thon’ to raise money for new jerseys.

“We were very pleased with the results of the fundraiser,” Hise said. “We were not only able to meet our goal but exceed it by several hundred dollars.”

The varsity girls are also in the process of updating the girls locker room.

“They have already sanded everything and will begin painting this week,”Hise said. “It is something that needed to be done, and the girls have taken real ownership in doing it themselves.”
