MMPC cancels Bazaar

The ladies of the Sallie Matthews Circle of Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church announced this week that they will not host their annual Christmas Bazaar. 

The decision was based on the increase in the number of recent COVID-19 cases in the area and the fact that the hospitals in Abilene are reaching their threshold for COVID-positive patients. 

Liz Green with the Sallie Matthews Circle said that the decision was difficult to make, but the group felt the event had to be cancelled out of concern for for both those who attend and all the members who prepare for the Bazaar. 

“This has always been such a big community event, and we always appreciate everyone’s support,” Green stated. 

Green also says that the Circle plans to be back in business next year, and the members thank everyone for all the years of support in the past.
