MISD students start 2nd semester

Students at the Moran Independent School System started the spring semester and the fourth grading period on Monday, Jan. 6, after a two-week long Christmas break.

Tuesday, Jan. 7, the Moran Parent Teachers Organization rewarded 15 students for their outstanding efforts in a recent fundraiser by sending them to Pizza Heaven in Cisco on a party bus. 

Upcoming Optional/Required fifth days include the following Friday – Jan. 17, Feb. 14, March 27, April 24, and May 1, 15, and 22.

School holidays are scheduled for MLK Day on Monday, Jan. 20, Presidents’ Day on Monday Feb. 17, spring break the week of March 9-13, and Good Friday on April 10. 

Snow days on April 13 and May 25 will be student holidays unless they are needed to make up classes lost to inclement weather.

The last day of school and high school graduation will be on Friday, May 29.

Seventeen MISD students are signed up to show their project animals at the Shackelford County Youth and Livestock Show on Jan. 24-25.
