Enrollment packets for prospective students at Moran Independent School are available now in the school office. All students planning to attend Moran schools need to pick up a packet.x

Students may pick up paperwork during business hours over the next two weeks. Packets will also be available during the Meet the Teachers event on Aug. 19, according to principal Jo Hise.

Meet the Teachers will be preceeded by Meet the Bulldogs.

More information on upcoming events may be obtained from the Moran ISD offices at 900 Main St. or by calling 325-945-3101.

Cheer camp

Moran varsity cheerleaders concluded a three-day cheer camp Wednesday.

“I talked to cheer sponsor Liz Walls, and she was very excited,” Hise said. “They were learning the dances and new cheers very quickly.”

Transfer Students

MISD is accepting transfer students in all grades for the upcoming school year.

Hise said the majority of transfers come from surrounding districts, but MISD will accept students from “just about anywhere.”

“We do run buses from Albany, Breckenridge and Cisco,” Hise said. “That’s one of the big reasons they feed in here from there.”

Hise said prospective transfers should contact the MISD at 325-945-3101 to begin the process. Classes begin in Moran on Aug. 23.

“They can call, make an appointment, do a little interview with me, and take a tour of the campus,” she said.

Hise said the reason for the interviews is to ensure students will fit in at Moran.

“Because we are so small, I like the kids to see how much smaller it is and how closeknit to make sure they’re comfortable with that,” she said.
