Moran Independent School District is gearing up for the start of another school year with faculty and staff going through in-service this week.

Classes start Monday, Aug. 7. Principal Jo Hise said students must have enrollment packets filled out and turned in before then. The last chance to pick up packets is 5:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4 before the start of the Meet the Teachers program.

Four days of in-service training started Tuesday, Aug. 1, with First Financial Bank providing breakfast for school personnel.

“We’re just getting everything lined out and getting our classrooms ready,” Hise said Tuesday.

Meet The Teachers

Meet The Teachers will start at 6:00 p.m. Friday in the auditorium.

Moran has five new faculty or staff members this year.

Karrie Cook will teach fourth through sixth math. Julia Mitchell will teach fourth through sixth English language arts. Shayna Lowrey and Carsyn Allen will handle special education. Melissa Stautzenberger will be in charge of daycare.

Meet the Bulldogs

Following Meet the Teachers, the Moran PTO will serve hamburgers starting at 7:30 p.m. at the football field with Meet the Bulldogs to start at 8:00 p.m.

Athletes from the football, volleyball, and cross country programs will be introduced.
