Trustee Meeting

The MISD trustees met on Monday, May 20, elected officers for the year, and considered several items on the agenda.

Sug Roller was re-elected board president. Alice Branham remains vice president. Gary Roan will continue as secretary. Other board members include Lynda Stockton, Sam Snyder, Russell Holland, and James Shelton.

The proposed modified school calendar was voted on.

“We will do a modified four and five day calendar next year,” said superintendent Danny Freeman. “We had about 70 parents respond to our survey, and most of those responses were positive.”

A school day care program for the children of MISD teachers and students also passed.

Moran is accepting applications for two teaching positions.

“We don’t know if we will need to hire anyone for the day care program, or if we will take care of that with current personnel,” said Freeman. “We are looking for a science teacher and for a head football coach.”

The job openings will be posted on the Region 14 website.
