Albany News

Moran students are expecting a visit from Santa Claus this Friday, Dec. 14, but locals have already given his elves a little help.

“All of the Angels have been picked off of the Angel Tree,” said administrative assistant Jeannie TenCate.

All Angel Tree gifts should be returned by Dec. 17 so they can be delivered on Dec. 18.

Those still needing that special Christmas gift might want to consider purchasing a copy of the upcoming Moran Bulldog Family Recipe Collection, Class of 2019 Edition

“The seniors will be putting together a cookbook again this year, just in time for Christmas and they need your help,” said superintendent Danny Freeman. “They are needing recipes. If you have any recipes you would like to share and are okay with them publishing them, please email your recipes to Anita Wheat at awheat@moran.esc14.net or drop them off in the school office.”

Cookbooks will be ready to pick up by Wednesday, Dec. 19.

UIL Contestants

Moran students took part in the district UIL elementary school competition last week at Strawn, and sixth, seventh, and eighth grade Bulldogs are entered in the UIL academic meet in Gordon this Thursday, Dec. 13.

Christmas Break

On Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 19-20, MISD will release at 12:30 p.m.

Students do not have school on Friday, Dec. 21, which is a teacher comp day.

The MISD campus will close for the Christmas break from Monday Dec. 24 through Friday, Jan. 4, and students will report back to class on Monday, Jan. 7.
