Both the Bulldogs and the Lady Bulldogs began practices this past Monday, Aug 5.

The football players started at 7:00 a.m., and volleyball two-a-days began at 8:00 a.m.

Football

“I was extremely pleased with practice,” said new head coach John Hughes on Monday. “I had seven show up for practice. The guys were flying around and getting after it.”

One of the Bulldogs is currently sick and another is out of town, so the full roster will be nine, according to the coach.

“I’m excited about the upcoming year and the group of young men I get to coach,” said Hughes. “I’m looking forward to a great year for the Bulldogs of Moran.”

The Bulldogs’ first scrimmage will be on Friday, Aug. 16 at 6:00 p.m. in Baird.

Volleyball

Coach Jo Hise has had 11 to 12 girls showing up each day for volleyball and cross country.

“Volleyball practice has gone really well,” Hise said.

The Lady Bulldogs host Loraine to a 12:00 noon game this Saturday, Aug. 10.

Cross Country

Hise has organized a cross country team.

“All of my volleyball girls are required to do cross country also,” she said.

In addition to the volleyball players, Hise has one boy on the cross country team.

Bulldog Family

“We closed out the (first) day with a cookout for the kids,” said Hughes. “It was a great day to be part of the Bulldog Family.”
