McMurtry concert set April 19

The next concert in the Albany Live series is set for just over a week away, with JamesMcMurtrycomingto Albany on Friday, April 19 the Aztec Theater.

“Tickets are still available for the McMurtry concert,”saidAlbanyLive’s director of community relations Megaen Birdwell. “We think he will be a crowd-pleaser with his unique blend of folk rock and Americana style that hassomethingforeveryone to enjoy.”

Tickets are also on sale for the May and June performances including WilliamBeckmann onMay 18 and the Pat Green show on June 8.

TicketsforthePatGreen concertinMayareona“low ticket alert,” according to Birdwell.

The McMurtry and Beckmann shows feature the usual $75 and $50 seats, while seats for the Green concert are $100 for reserved and $75 for general admission.

“We are so excited to have the lineup we were able to book this year,” Birdwell said. “We hosted the band Shinyribs in March, with so many positive comments from those who attended. It was high energy and a lot of fun.”

Tickets for all the concerts are available only at www.albanylive.org.

The doors will open at the Aztec for all shows this season at 6:00 p.m., with performances at 7:00 p.m.

McMurtry’s concert is also anticipated to be a sellout. McMurtry, the son of famed author Larry Mc-Murtry,isaGrammy-nominated singer/songwriter.

McMurtry’smostrecent album, The Horses and the Hounds, was released in 2021 to critical acclaim, including anAMABest Song of the Year nomination for “Canola Fields.”

Patrons of Albany Live concerts are no longer able to add the VIP experience to their tickets, which included the opportunity to meet with performers and enjoy refreshments after the concert. However, a cash bar will be available to all ticket holders during performances.
