A special account has been opened at Clear Fork Bank to help the victims of last week’s tornado in Matador.

Clifford Teinert, who has a good friend affected by the storm, said that monetary donations are now needed more than water, clothing, and similar items.

The funds will go directly to the “Matador Relief Fund,” which is being administered by the Motley County Judge, County Sheriff’s Office, and a minister in Matador.

Teinert said that the account gives concerned donors a way to support immediate relief and continuing recovery efforts in the wake of the tornado that devastated Matador on June 21.

Every penny donated will be distributed in relief efforts, he said, with Clear Fork Bank forwarding contributions to the Happy State Bank in Matador.

Donors can also send checks directly to Happy State Bank, PO Box 60, Matador TX 79244.
