The annual Splash Day at the Albany city pool is scheduled for Tuesday, June 1.

The facility will be open free of charge to the general public from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. to start the beginning of the summer.

Albany city pool co-managers this summer are Jennifer Bowman and Dakota Fowler, who have both previously run the facility.

The managers will work in the concession area, sell  swim passes, and keep up with the lifeguards.

Lifeguard training began this week. The city typically hires around 15 lifeguards after they are trained and certified.

Fees

Daily entrance fees to the pool during normal hours will be $2.50 per person.

Local residents may purchase pool passes at the swimming pool. A summer pool pass is $75 for an individual and $150 for a family pass for all family members living in the same household.

Individual and family passes do not cover admission to family swim time on Tuesday evenings or during private rental times.

Regular Pool Hours

The pool will be open 12:30-5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sunday hours are 1:00-5:00 p.m.

There will be a family swim time on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a special rate of $1 per person. Children must be accompanied by a parent during the time block designated for families.

Pool Rentals

The pool will be available for after-hour rentals for $150 per two-hour time block or $300 for a four-hour reservation.

Rental times are from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and from 8:30-10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights.

On Sunday, the pool is available for rental during the 5:30-7:30 p.m. time slot only.

To inquire about availability for rental or to book a time slot, contact Bowman at 325-338-2546.

Pool rental fees must be paid in full at the time the pool is reserved.
