Albany High School students Addie Beth Denton and Mady Connally both won awards at the Cisco Junior Rodeo last weekend.

Denton won belt buckles for the highest score over the course of the two-day rodeo in both goat tying, where times of 11.08 and 14.04 placed her first in both gos, and in ribbon roping where she claimed the average with a first place time of 12.38 seconds on Saturday after a “no time” on Friday.

In addition, the AHS junior placed first in breakaway roping on Saturday, catching her calf in 4.34 seconds after missing the previous day, along with second and third in pole bending on the two days.

She picked up a couple of points in barrel racing, racking up enough overall tallies to claim the All Around Cowgirl Saddle in the 15-19 age division.

Mady Connally ran the fastest time in the 15-19 girls barrel racing both nights, Aug. 9 and 10, with times of 17.306 and 16.795 respectively, winning the buckle in that event.

The Albany senior also placed first in poles on Friday with a 22.016 second run and fifth on Saturday.

Landree Connally also ran at the Cisco rodeo. The Albany junior took sixth and fifth in barrels on Friday and Saturday, and fifth and fourth in poles on the two days.
